Visit FileForumsĮxtended Edition Having said that, I absolutely love the RoN custom campaigns that came with the Thrones and Patriots expansion - the world map, combined with lots of custom battles made it awesome! I still vividly remember custom battles such as the Korean war in the Cold War campaign and the unification of Greece in Alexander the Great's campaign, just to name a few. EE campaigns are also tradional RTS campaigns and have really cool storylines, especially the Russian one that is set in the future. Regarding campaigns, EE has a bit more content going for it than RoN. I personally like that there are future ages in EE and that there are a lot of ages but for multiplayer games, but I think RoN has struck a better balance between being able to complete a game in one sitting and having lots of variety and progression. EE has more content in terms of units and buildings but that's because of more ages available. RoN is a bit faster/more dynamic than EE (at least that is how it feels to me). Gameplay wise, both games are pretty nice and depends on your preference. It definitely has aged better in terms of game mechanicals and graphics and it has an Extended Edition, which, though, is not a major remaster or something, it does make the game a little bit prettier and easier to play on modern machines. If we are talking about playing the games today, I would have to go with Rise of Nations.
